There are 68 km of recreational trails, a 14 km waterfront trail, 127 playgrounds and more than 385 hectares of parks. Whitby also offers a long list of arts and cultural venues including a 54,000 sq. ft. public library, Station Art Gallery, Whitby Courthouse Theatre and a Historical Museum. The town features a charming Farmer’s Market, an excellent variety of stores and shops as well as numerous events throughout the year including Whitby Harbour Day (an annual celebration that highlights Whitby’s harbour facilities and the annual Country Town Carnival on Canada Day.
